Where the journey began

Brenda has always had an overactive imagination for spinning stories but never thought she could be a writer. That was until her sister asked how to take a feel good cozy story and turn it into a macabre.

Her first thought was of the beloved play HARVEY by Mary Chase, best known as a classic movie starring Jimmy Stewart. Within minutes she twisted it inside-out, upside-down and backwards spouting out her thoughts like it was a reality. After the shock wore off from her sister told her she HAD to write it as a novel.

Several months passed with the characters yelling at her begging to have their story told. She finally agreed and writing WOODELL became her obsession. He seemed to haunt her morning, noon and night until the story dove deeper and other characters came to life too.

Although Woodell has ventured far from the original inspiration she feels her late father, a lover of books, movies and aspiring writer himself, is smiling from the other side of the veil with a giant white pookah by his side.
